We married within a month after our proposal with the
consent of my parents and his grandfather
I never know my life would be this much happier; I love each
and every of my moment with him. He is so protective and cared me a lot. Each
day passed like a seconds
"Harinee, where are you?" , Karthik called so loudly
"Good morning, darling," I replied
"Good morning, beautiful, I have good news", he smiled
brightly
"Oh really? What is it? "I asked
"My sister is coming to India this week", he told with bright
smile
"Is it? Oh my god, I am really excited", I told with equal
happiness
"I am already late, I need to go for meeting, bye sweet heart"
"Bye", I waved
I am really exciting to see his sister, I saw her in photos,
karthi loved her sister, he admired her a lot, I am bit scared since she
brought up in abroad, I don’t know whether she likes me or not, I m so
conservative village girl, she is totally opposite of me

I am really nervous, I woke up early and got ready and
checked mirror n th time to make sure I m ok to see. She is fashion designer so
definitely she will check my clothes.
"You ready?" Karthi asked
"Yeah, shall we go", I asked
He nodded and he start the car and I didn’t talk during entire
travel
"Is anything wrong?", karthi asked
"No... Um nothing really", I told
"I don’t think so, you look uncomfortable", he told
"Oh, nothing I m just feeling tired, I did cleaning your sis
room and cooked some food, may be", I told
"you should ask our maid to do", he told with concern
"No it fine", I told
" I am going to see Anu
after 4 years, I really missed her", he told
I nodded
And finally she came, wow she is so much prettier in person
than in photos, she ran after seeing us,
she opened her arms and ran towards
us, I think she is going to hug karthi
But to my surprise, she hugged me tightly; I realized after
a few seconds and hugged her back. Thank god she likes me, I smiled to myself
"Hello sissy, I am also here", Karthik raised his eyebrows
"Oh, yeah, I forgot", Anu replied
"Can’t I get hug", he grinned
"Sure"she gave him a bear hug
I laughed at him
"Okay, fine Welcome to India my cute little sister", he told
We both laughed

Anu becomes so close to me, we became friends, she used to
share everything to me, sometime karthi jealous of me, he looks so pity when
his sister totally ignore him, but he is so happy that finally he gave home to
his sister
"Hey sissy", Anu called me
"For the billionth time, call me Harinee", I told her with
grin
"Okay, sorry si... Hari", she bite her lip
"Good", I laughed
"I going to do some make over for you, today I am going to
give surprise for Karthik", she told with
excitement
"No", I blushed
"Yes", she told
"I don’t know", I told
"I bought you dress, I am going to do your hair cut and
little make over after that you are going for
dinner and I will call Karthik to
come over there, this is my plan", she told with full excitement
"What? No... I gasped seriously, gal? You are kidding me, I
can’t", I told without letting her to reply
"Wait... Wait, breathe Hari. I already planned everything and
ask Karthi to come restaurant, but he thought I am coming to have dinner", she
smiled
"Ok enough of talking, just shut your mouth, and listen to
me, okay... You have no other way", she told with grin
I nodded
She bought a beautiful white sari with matching blouse, and
white heels, she did my makeup and she did something to my hair it took almost 1 hour
"Oh my god, you look beautiful", she opened her mouth
I saw myself in mirror, I saw someone standing in front of
mirror, she looks beautiful, and I really
shocked and realized my reflection in
mirror, I saw myself entirely different girl
"Is that really me?" I asked with confusion
"Yeah, absolutely", she told with joy
"You really an amazing fashion designer", I told by pinching
her cheeks
"Okay, enough go and meet my brother, he already called me
for 10 times", she told

He is sitting by checking his mobile, he didn’t notice me
when I enter, I walked with nervous, I don’t know where that confident Harinee
went, oh my god because of this sudden make over, I am not sure, whether he
likes this change
He still in his formals, with messed hair, but he looks
absolutely handsome, his eyes were breath taking, ok come to earth, go and talk
to Karthik, my inner conscious alerted me
"Karthik", I almost whispered
He looked me and he tried to say things but he opened his
mouth twice and closed
"Honey, you look… stunning, oh my god gorgeous", he find
difficult to say things
"Anu...," I slightly bushed even I don’t know what to reply
We both had a very long chat, he couldn’t takes his eyes off
and staring at me like no one existing in the world except me, he is really
behaving like a teenager , I don’t know what to do, I blushed for the whole time. Thanks to Anu I told

Each day went with some excitement surprise because of Anu,
I loved her more and more, she brings happiness to me and karthik’s life.
It was 11 o Clock, karthi didn’t come home, he never been
this much late, I called several times but his phone is switched off. He don’t
even bother to inform me, I felt asleep in hall
"Hey", he woke me
"Hi", I rubbed my eyes and yawned
"Why are you sleeping here?"he asked
"Why are you so late, why you didn’t attend my call", I asked
"I have one important meeting, and my phone switched off,
meeting was really exhausted, so... I am sorry", he apologized
"Its ok, come and eat, I am really hungry", and I dragged him
"You didn’t eat", he stopped me
"Yes, I waited for you, after that I slept, I am sorry", I
bite my lip
"Come, let’s eat and hereafter don’t give lame excuses, I
don’t want you to starve, is that clear Mrs. Karthik?"
"Yes, Mr. Karthik", I replied
We ate silently. I stared at him while eating; I never bored
of seeing him he suddenly smiled...
"Enjoying the view?" he asked playfully
"What? No." , I stammered
I felt awkward for staring at my own husband and more
awkward is being caught by him
"Why, this meeting took you so long?" I changed the topic
"Just, some contract issue, meeting ended up in more like
argument, then it’s so messed up Honey", he told with disgust
"Oh, will you manage", I asked with worry
"I think so", he smiled

Next Morning, before I woke Karthi left home early by left
one note beside my coffee cup...
“Sorry honey, I need to go, something important and I made u
coffee- love Karthik”
I smiled after seeing that note, but what so important,
boring business
I need to go hotel, but not for waiter job because Karthik
bought that hotel as soon as marriage, I can’t resist him. I was appointed as
General Manager, at first I was so scared but eventually I made up
When I got ready to go, Anu came
"Hari wait …" she holds her breath
"I need car, I am having some urgent work and mine is in
workshop, please can you lend your car", she asked with puppy face so that I
can’t say no
"But I have to go babe", I replied
"Only an hour, please", she begged
"Okay. Come soon babes", I told
She kissed my cheeks and told thank you and went
It’s almost 3 hours still she didn’t come; I called her more
than 10 times, no reply. And few minutes later got a call from her number
I picked and shouted. Anu, "where are you babe? I have
work", I yelled
"Listen to me", I heard a male voice
I panicked and asked, "who are you? Why are you having her
mobile? "I asked
"Don’t call police or don’t tell your husband read with 5
Crores and wait for my next call", he warned
"What you want? Why did I give that huge money? What is ---" before I completed he stopped me
"If you didn’t prepare money I will kill this pretty little
thing", he warned again
"And don’t try to act smart, I am watching all your move, one
wrong move cast the death of Anu", he told with harsh tone
"No... I don’t, just don’t do anything to her", I begged
"That’s depends", he hung up the phone
Tears welled in my eyes, I can’t lose Anu and we can’t lose
her, she is everything for Karthik, I would not let him suffer the same pain
when he lost his parents, I will do anything for Karthik
I mustered my courage , I took big suitcase and started
filling cash, I don’t have enough money , I can’t go bank now, so I replaced it
with some jewels and then I again got a call
He told me to take some cab and asked me to come some place
outside the city. In between I got call from Karthik probably because of the
reason I didn’t go to hotel, but I ignored his call
I reached the place, he told me to come, my mind is full of
Anu, I could not concentrate where am I
going and what to do next, what will I do if something happen to Anu. Oh god I
should stop thinking something bad
Nothing will happen to her, I told myself
I took a briefcase and walked through the dark room and
whispered ANU ANU where are you?
"Welcome Mrs.Karthik", one tall man told
"Where is Anu? "I told by hiding my fear
"She is fine and I send her home while you are coming here",
tall man told
Oh my goodness, I finally felt relief
"But how could I believe you?" I asked
He took out his mobile and dialed number and kept in speaker
and I heard voice of one man and
finally I heard Anu voice "Hari I am fine come
soon, I am scared", she half cried
I sigh with relief
I walked towards him to give money but as soon as I hand
over, I heard screeching of car and
Karthik’s voice shouting my name. Oh
shit!! Why did he come now?
"You informed him? He arched his eyebrows and sorry
Mrs.Karthik you are going to regret it", he told with anger
"No, I didn’t tell him, I don’t know how he know this, I am
sorry here take this money", I blabbered
Karthi rushed to the room with some cops," honey are you ok?" He panicked
But as soon as karthi enter he is at gun point of the tall
man and cops pointing gun at him
"No... Don’t I am giving you all money, if you want I will
give you more money, please put your gun down", I begged
"I told you clearly not to inform anyone, but you didn’t
listen so now this is consequences", tall man told in harsh voice
He kicked me in my ribs and I fell down with my head hard
hit on the floor its starts bleeding
"No. you coward I am going to kill you", karthi shouted
But he pointed gun at Karthik and As soon as I saw him pull
the trigger, I instantly stepped in front of karthi and receive bullet just
above my chest
I heard karthi shouting WHAT THE HELL!! And some gunshots
Blood gushed from my body, karthi shook me and told me, "I
won’t let you die, please wake up"
I tried several times but I can’t open my eyes darkness
surrounded me

"When will she regain her conscious? "I heard karthi voice
I tried to open my eyes but I could not. Thank god I didn’t
die but I could not move, there we pain all over the body, I tried several
times to open my eyes and I gave in and started to listens my husband’s
beautiful voice. Thank goodness nothing happened to him, I saved him and Anu
"She got bullet in shoulders and some injuries in head also
broken ribs, she need complete rest for one week", and someone told might be
doctor
"It’s all because of us karthi", Anu cried
"No, it’s because of me, it’s nothing to do with you", Karthik
told with sadness
I need to open my eyes and told him I am ok, but again
darkness surrounded me

I opened my eyes and found karthi sleeping in chair with his
head on bed. He sleeps soundly, maybe he is too tired, I kept my hand on his
head caressing his hair, and he suddenly woke
"Hey", I called him
"I am sorry, I should not let that happen, I am scared of
losing, I had thousand deaths from Monday", he cried
"From Monday? What day is today", I asked
"Today is Thursday, you are unconscious for 3 days", and he
kissed my head
I wiped his tears," I am fine", I told him with smile
He nodded but still didn’t stopped crying
"My cute husband crying like a lost baby", I told
He smiled a little
"I really scared a lot, what if I lost you, you think I will
live after I lost you", he told with pain in his
eyes
I stopped him by keeping my finger in his mouth
"Don’t say", I told
"Don’t do stupid things like this anymore", he told in serious
tone
I nodded
"Anu?"I asked
"She is fine, I send her home for rest, she didn’t rest for
last 3 days", he told
"Hmm", I told
"You need to rest", he covered blanket and sat beside me and I
fell asleep

It’s been a week, I recovered fully, now I can walk without
the help of Karthi, most of the time he carried me as I could not walk
And after exhausting one week in hospital, I came home and
everything back to normal. My happily ever after life started again, I never
let anything happen to my family, to my karthi, I risked my life once, and
never scared to risk again..
"Deep thoughts?" Karthi interrupted me from my thoughts
I smiled
"Let’s go somewhere far", he told
"Where?" I asked
"France", he told with happy tone
"Okay… done", I gave him thumbs up
He carried me in bridal style
"I am alright, I can walk, put me down", I told
"I don’t think you can walk", he smirked
"I can, put me down Mr.Karthik"
"No way, Mrs.Karthik", he says playfully
